Favorite area to clean?
The opposite of lokerola's thread.
I love cleaning wheels and tires. I always do wheels and tires first when I clean a vehicle. I find it quite satisfying to take sorry looking wheels/tires and making them spotless. It gets me excited to do the rest of the car.
What about you folks?

timaishu, hey good idea! I love the look and of the hood and trunk after I've corrected the paint and gotten the LSP on. It just makes the car pop.

If we are talking just cleaning and not detailing I would say engine bays. I've always enjoyed looking at a spotless engine bay. Also it can be a huge transformation that really doesn't take all that long even on the worst of the worst.
If we are talking favorite part of detailing in general it would have to be the paint correction part of it. I love taking a car that has little shine and gloss in it's paint, and making it look almost new again. It's very satisfying.

To clean? It depends on the car.... In general I would have to agree with wheels. I love being able to pull out my wheel woolies and swissvax wheel brush and Daytona brush, etc and use different brushes to get into each area. And who can resist that feeling you get when ARO drags a torrential downpour of sludge of your tire!!

My favorite spot to clean, well it's a tie between the wheels, or the overall backside of the car! On my G35, I have nice chrome Enkei LM 1/5 Rims on mine and it always makes me excited to finish the rest of the car when I get all four shining. But also when I do the backside of the car (bumper, exhaust, trunk) I love making it shine like none other!
It's a weird combo but it works for me!

My favorite part to clean is whatever is last. Cleaning is a pain. I love to shine the hood best.

I love cleaning my rim's especially because they look great when their done. Like everyone else I love bringing rim's/wheels back from dead. A car can be perfect but if the wheels don't look great it just throws off the whole thing!
Favorite part about detailing by far is correction! Taking a swirled hazed up mess and turning it into a jaw dropping work of art is what of the best experiences I have ever had. Being able to see the difference between start and finish, when someone thought their car already looked the best it could, is amazing.

I love the hood and trunk lid! From washing to applying LSP, I love to look at my reflection from these 2 panels. And that's how I gauge the paint condition of any car: I stare at the hood.
