Fresh Paint Water Spots question
Whats up all,
Ive got a quick question.
I have someone with a freshly painted Camaro (black)...he was driving home from the painters yesterday and guess what..it rained on his damn car lol.
He wants me to put opticoat on it eventually, but right now he wants it washed.
I'm concerned about what car soap to use mostly.
I have a sample of Pinnacle car soap which is 'body shop safe'...my other car washes are
Meguiars Shampoo Plus and Meguiars #62 Shampoo and Conditioner.
are there any other special precautions that i need to take w/fresh paint.
thanks

Re: Fresh Paint Water Spots question
There's not much you have to be careful with for a wash. Just don't use anything like bug sponges, car wash brushes, or water blades.
Here's where the two bucket method REALLY comes in handy, ha.
Just use a quick detailer to give it a wipe down afterwards. Should be all set.
Although...a fair warning, you will probably find issues with the paint job as you wipe panels down. I almost always find the errors during the paint process when doing this. Do the customer a favor and point them out if you find any. He can get them fixed before it's too late.

Yeah he said he already noticed couple issues. Like a piece of lint he said it looked like on the front fender that is under the clear but ontop of the base coat...and he said it sounds like the painters 'dont want to redo it'...if i saw issues after dropping almost 8k on a paint job...they'd be redoing it...ill give it a good look over while we are there and let him know what we find, which he asked us to do anyway
