    Megs Last Touch

So I have noticed that Megs Last Touch is pretty streaky at the recommended dilution ratio, I was given a jug of this stuff, and I figured it would do no harm to try it out. The consistency of the product is good, but it is quite streaky. Does anyone have any other dilution ratios for Megs Last Touch that doesn't make it streak.

You're already cutting it 1:1? I also find it to be kind of greasy/streaky but I usually use it straight. I have to say I haven't used it in a while, trying to save it for clay lube and use up some of my other myriad QD's.

Yes, it's streaky 1:1. I don't find that many QD's that aren't, but I have not tried ONR and Ultima....

That is one of my hit or mist qd's.

It seems even when diluted, it streaks on some days, and others it doesn't.

FWIW, I like the m135 much better.

I prefer to use Last Touch undiluted. I believe the 1:1 dilution is mainly for clay lubricant.

    Have you tried it straight?

I really like Last Touch and use it undiluted - application can be very finicky. Surface must be cool and you need a spray head that really atomizes product well.

    Re: Megs Last Touch

There seems to be many variables ( ambient temperature, humidity, in or out of direct sunlight among others) that could cause 'streaking' when attempting to dry a vehicle, either with or without a "drying aid".

As well, I have always been curious if the car wash media, and how much was left on a vehicle after what one feels is a thorough rinsing, had any impact on the 'streaking' issue.

For example: If one uses a car wash media that proclaims itself to be a "Wash & Wax" product....how much, if any, of a 'wax' product or other substances is lying on the wet paint's surfaces that could possibly interfere, or not be compatible/water soluble, with the "drying aid's" chemicals/ingredients.

Also, if a person has applied an LSP (wax, sealant, Coating) and it has had time to properly cure, I don't see it breaking down into a 'liquid' form, as it were, and ultimately interfering with the drying process, "drying-aided" or not.

Perhaps the use of drying towels that may have left-over products imbedded within could impart some 'streaking issues' also.

    So many things to consider!
Just a few of my thoughts.

Never used it undiluted, but I will give it a shot. Also, I agree there are many variables that can cause streaking. Thanks All!

This is a good thread. I have a gallon of this sitting on my porch in a PBMG box with everything else I ordered. I have high hopes for this product based on the customer reviews. It's much more economical than buying the $5 bottles of Meg's QD at Wal-Mart.

    Full strength=Qd
    1:1= clay lube

works well and inexpensive for its intended purpose!
