Do you have to use the lubricant specifically designed for clay bars? I seem to go through a whole bottle on every car. Is there a cheaper option?

Mix 2 ounces of Meguiar's Gold Class car wash in 22 to 25 ounces of water you're off and running. The ratio isn't all that critical but if you use these approximations you be making clay lube for about $0.25 gallon..
The one that I use is DP No Rinse. Dilution ratio is on the bottle. It's not much so it becomes a good bang for the buck. Plus, you've got a product that can multi-task.
