Paint Hardness/softness
How can you tell if a vehicle has soft or hard paint? I have a black 2007 Mitsubishi outlander. Do the car makes differ from each other. Are there better vehicles that have a better paint job? I think in comparing my Outlander to my wife's black Toyota Avalon 2007 that it has a better quality to it.

Some paints just mar easier, but they also usually correct easier. Some cars that 'typically' have softer paint are Acura and Porsche. Some harder ones are Corvette (and a bunch of other GM vehicles). I think that Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, and Infiniti tend to have paint that is neither hard nor soft. Remember though, just because Porsche Black is soft, doesn't mean that every one is going to be soft, and their red may end up being hard...all from the same manufacturer.
