Mercedes E320 CDI hood repainted
I got my new (to me) Mercedes in October last year. It had some road rash on the hood, and I bought a Dr. Paint Chip kit to fix it. (Black 040) In the meantime, we had a crazy storm with golf ball sized hail and tornadoes in Western PA. I got a few dings from the hail and the body shop fixed a few on the doors and trunk, but had to repaint the hood. They did a nice job, and I like the fact that the fix on the road rash has been taken care of with paint and clear coat. Anyway, I know I need to wait at least 30 days (bodyshop rec), but would rather go longer. My problem is that I'm taking a 4 hour trip this weekend and am going to the beach early August. With the wet weather, the bugs are crazy and the water spots are killing me! I know I can use Meguiars #7 for a little protection. Am I worrying too much about removing bugs and water spots from 2-3 months of unprotected driving? Should I just plan on a good wash, clay, cleaner/wax, wax when the time comes? Thanks!
