Meguiars 105/205 Application Questions
I have a brand new bottle of both the Meguiars 105 and 205, my old trusty PC 7424, and an assortment of LC CCS 5.5" pads. I have not however, 'ever' used these products before, and would prefer not to screw up anything with them. As such, can you offer some feedback on the following questions.
For the Meguiars 105....
- What color LC CCS pad(s) should I use?
- What polisher speed setting should I use?
- Any application or removal tips?
For the Meguiars 205....
- What color LC CCS pad(s) should I use?
- What polisher speed setting should I use?
- Any application or removal tips?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm sure the experts here will give you some great feedback, but will want to know the make, model, year and condition of the paint.

For 105 use your yellow or orange pad.
for 205 use your Black ( grey) or green.
make sure you do small section (2ft X 2 ft)
Just my 2 cents worth.
Speed 4 for 105 and 3 for 205

Probably should have added that information to my original post. The vehcile being detailed is my 2001 Ford F150 truck, gold in color, with paint that's in pretty good condition. I have some water spots, some small scratching, and some light swirls that I'm trying to remove prior to final sealant and wax.
My plan was to perform surface correction with the Meg's 105 followed by the Meg's 205 to finish the surface, then top it with Poorboy's EX sealant, followed by Poorboy's Nattys Blue Liquid. The Poorboy's products are some of my personal favorites, even though I know there are longer lasting / more expensive products out there.
Hope that fills in any blanks.

Re: Meguiars 105/205 Application Questions
I generally find that 105 works best with an Orange pad on speed 5 or 6. With 205 on a white pad on speed 4 or 5. These are general starting points for myself. You may have to vary your pads up or down in aggressiveness or change the speed. Make sure you do a test spot and find what works best, then continue to the rest of vehicle.
Just because a product isn't epensive doesn't make it good and visa versa. Poorboys makes some great products at an affordable price. As long as you are happy with the results, thats what really matters!
