    Acid Rain Damage

I have significant acid rain damage on the tops of my car. What would be the best product to remove all the spots? I have a Porter Cable with some Lake Country pads.

Acid rain spots tend to be etchings "in" the paint, not spots "on" the paint. In order to remove them you have to remove all of the paint surrounding them.

Chances are you'll need a compound or a medium aggressive swirl mark remover to level the paint to the point that you no longer see the spots.

Meguiar's Ultimate Compound would probably be a good product to try with a polishing or cutting pad, do some testing and see if it's aggressive enough with a polishing pad if not use a foam cutting pad.

    Thanks for the links.

I just used Wolfgang 8 oz. Swirl Remover Combo, Wolfgang polishes, total swirl remover, finishing glaze, machine glaze and Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Pads 6 Pack, foam pad kit, build a kit, buffing pads, curved edge pads on the car a few days ago. I didnt know if I just needed to spend more time working the damaged areas, or needed something a little stronger.

You have to get at just the right angel to see them, but they are still there. But from a view straight on, you cant see them.
