I want to bring my exhaust tip back to like new condition. Its got some pitting and scratches. I was reading steel wool 0000? Then follow up with some mothers mag&alluminum polish? Or does anyone have any other tips?
Steel wool should do the trick. I would use some polish and the steel wool at the same time. Then follow up with polish and an applicator or microfiber towel. Then you may want to use a sealant on it.

Meguiars WB does an amazing job on chrome exhaust tips. Treat chome like paint. In other words, do not jump to the most aggressive approach right away. Start with a mf and some metal polish (autosol, etc, etc, etc) or, you can use a mild to moderate paint polish. Check out my thread for doing the 2002 Concorde and look at the difference between before and after. They were cleaned with WB, polished with M205 and a mf and sealed with OC. Another amazing product on chrome is Collinite metal wax. I have had great success using my rotary and a mild polishing pad on it too. Nowhere on the bottle does it recommend it, but it works great! HERE is a link where I polished nasty chrome with m105 and a wool pad followed by the Colli and a softer pad. Here is the Concorde detail: 2002 Concorde Opti Coated
Hope that helps.
ok so today I tried steel wool 0000 with mothers mag & aluminum polish. It looks a little better/brighter but I want more. It still didnt remove some spotting and pitting. plus I have some scratches that were left behind from the steel wool. I applied some autoglym HD wax after. Like I said it looks a little better then what it did but id it to look better if thats even possible
