    Im open to all suggestions/preferences

Just got my PC7424XP, in fact I haven't taken it out of the box yet, but it appears that most of the pads are hook and loop. Am I correct here so far? I can see the PC comes with a spindle mounted polishing pad. But is the hook and loop attachment the best way to go? Only way to go? Would it be wise to invest in those attachments? This will be for personal use auto detailing, swirl marks, lens repair etc. Not a business.

    Thanks

I'm a bit confused, you mean invest in a hook and loop backing plate? That is pretty much standard equipment. The pad that comes with the PC most people pitch that.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant! Thanks. I'm new, I'm ignorant when it comes to this...but you won't hurt my feelings!

Certainly wasn't trying to do that.

    I'd suggest a 5" and a 3 3/4" backing plate to oputfit 5.5" and 4" pads to it.

Welcome to the site, I remember my first days being on this site. I was really overwhelmed with all the knowledge here. I'll help you wherever I can.
