Dedicated Sealant/Wax Pads
Since I am still pretty new to all of this, I have a question.
Do you all have one dedicated pad that you only use for applying one specific sealant or wax?
Reason I am asking, is since finding this forum and making my addiction worse, I have been finding more waxes and sealants that I want to try and use. Right now I have a dedicated pad for applying Megs NXT 2.0, a dedicated pad for applying Megs Gold Class, a dedicated pad for applying WGDGPS 3.0, a dedicated pad for applying Poorboy Liquid Nattys Blue, a dedicated pad for applying Poorboys Polish with Sealant, an AIO and a dedicated pad for applying Klasse AIO. Get the picture? And I am contiuning to buy or order different sealants and waxes to try. If I had to have a dedicated pad for each sealant or wax, this would get pretty expensive, or wasteful if I do not use certain pads/waxes or sealants again.
I understand the concern over cross contaminating pads, but what do other hobbyist out there do? Do you just clean your pads off and use if with different waxes and sealant?
Thanks!

Re: Dedicated Sealant/Wax Pads
I have the same problem you do when it comes to hand applicator pads. For my machine pads I don't have this problem. I just wash the pad really well and use it again with a different sealant if I want to.

Re: Dedicated Sealant/Wax Pads
I use the same pad for different waxes/sealants. I just ensure that they are cleaned extremely well after use. I usually let them soak in dawn and hot water over night, then take them too the sink rinse them out with hot water and squeeze as much of the sealant/wax I can out of it. It will kind of ooze between your fingers. Then I'll throw them in another hot water/dawn soak over night and do the same thing with the rinse. That usually gets almost all of the product out.
I've never run into any issues with cross contamination or anything.

Re: Dedicated Sealant/Wax Pads
If it's a wax or sealant I use alot and will always use then yes I keep a dedicated pad or applicator for each product. However like many others I test and try so many different LSP's that it would not be financially intelligent to have a dedicated pad for each. For me I wait until I find something I really like and will use often before it gets it's own pad. I just make sure I clean the pads very wel before switching products.

Re: Dedicated Sealant/Wax Pads
No specifics here .... just wash the pads in the pad washer and good to go for whatever products I want.
