3M Rubbing Compound vs. M105??
Do they have about the same cut? Does 3M use DAT? Which will finish better?

Mark,
Try to determine the grit 3M Rubbing Compound will remove. I believe Meguiar's M105 will remove 1200 - 1500 grit so this would be a good indicator. I think 3M is about 1200 - 1500 so if this is the case then I'd say yes.

Thanks, Bobby. Do you know if it can be had over the counter?

3m Rubbing Compound can be found at most NAPAs. If not, they can order it.

I found 3m rubbing compound at advance auto. I have yet to use 105 but 3m is decent. You still need to use a polish though.

It's true about M105. I'm looking for a similar cut compound that doesn't dry as fast as M105.

I hear 105 is supposed to leave a decent finish for a compound.
