First off the Orbital is pretty much worthless, I wouldn't even bother using it to apply just wax. It doesn't even have a near the power of the PC, let alone a rotary to breakdown polishes etc. Those scratches look pretty bad, were they before? If not, it almost looks as if the Orbital picked up some grit or something and ground it into the paint. If polishes don't break down the abbrassives can cause marring but that looks pretty serious right there.
Did you clean/clay or anything beforehand?
If it were me, I would pull out my Edge Yellow Cutting pad and Optimum Compound just by looking at it, if that doesn't work, you need a rotary and strong polish. But hard to tell from those pics, the 2nd pic looks like just bad swirls, but that 3rd pic looks like their deep and bad.

Any chance that area has been repainted? Those look like sanding scratches in filler under the paint.
When it comes to a persons worth, money is a lousy way to keep score.

All three pics were the exact same spot, just at different angles and/or closer up.
PC is going to be ordered hopefully for X-mas, if not, then in time for spring.
Yea, the hood, roof, and trunk were clayed just last week, and yes it was clean before using the compound. I'm not that worried as my car is for sale, and since it's white, it looks might good until less than 4 feet away and in direct sun. It has a really good gloss to it for being white.
Was just wandering if that's what swirls really look like up close like that. I'll try and find some more spots for pics tomorrow.
