    Talking Almost Ready to dive in but I need Help

    O.K. I have been lurking around searching threads Pestering people and I think I have defined a direction for my next level of Care care Starting with

    [B]Griot's Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher

    As a kit
    Kit includes:
    Griot's Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher
    2 CCS White 6.5 inch Polishing Foam Pads
    2 CCS Gray 6.5 Inch Finishing Foam Pads
    1 CCS Blue 6.5 Inch Finessing Foam Pad
    2 Cobra White Microfiber Polishing Cloth (16 x 16 inches)
    12 oz. Pinnacle XMT Polishing Foam Pad Cleaner
    12 oz. Pinnacle XMT Polishing Foam Pad Conditioner

    Upgraded to the HD version who doesn't like a 25' cord.

    I am also adding

    The Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer

    I not going into business but it seems to be the slickest way to clean a pad.

    I am adding a
    3.5" Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate

    I am also adding 2 of CCS orange pads in 6.5 inch and 1 additional blue
    and 2 orange 4" CCS
    2 White 4" CCS
    2 Grey 4" CCS
    2 Blue 4" CCS

    Now the soft wear, I was always under the belief that you should always use products from the same company as they would be chemically compatible providing you with the best possible platform for the best job. Does this hold water?? Or did I just drink the Koo-laid very well??

    I have decided on the Wolfgang twins for my Wife's 2007 Toyota Camry White.
    Swirls all over but nothing too drastic for a factory finish.

    Wolfe gang clay? Or other?

    Soap? for wash

    Pre-cleaner for DA after clay and before Twins?

    and possibly the biggest question of all I am a believer in post sealer Wax. Which one with the Twins??

    do I stay Wolfgang and use the ultimate.............. Wolfgang Füzion Estate Wax

    And the stupid question do i spread it with the DA???

    or by hand.

    I probably should have posted this as 5 threads but I am really exited especially after my wife gave me a green light to shop responsibly for the next level.

    I'd suggest bumping your pads down to 5.5". I used 5.5" for the first time with my GG ROP and will never go to 6.5" unless applying wax (It also helps that the 5.5" HD backing plates are BOGO this week

    I also love Lake Country's HydroTech pads. I used CCS and Flat pads and they both seemed to suck up my liquid polishes too much.

    For clay, I usually suggest DP but have had people tell me it mars a bit more than Pinnacle XMT clay and after using it today on black paint, it's true, go with XMT.

    For wash, it depends on what you want the wash for. I've had good results from Meguiar's Gold Class and have had great results from DP's washes.

    If you have the money, definitely go with the Fuzion wax. Otherwise I'd suggest going with anything ranging from low price (Poor Boy's Natty's Blue or White), medium range (DP Max Wax), and higher range (Pinnacle Souveran or Signature Series II). Fuzion would be in the very expensive range but from what I have heard it is worth it and if you're good you can make paste wax last a very, very long time (Thin layers!).

    I tend to apply waxes by hand (I seem to save wax and apply it better this way and agree with Mike on straight line method). However, I recently got a cobra cross groove pad and will be trying it out to apply my DP Poli Coat.

    No problem, as for a pre-wax cleaner, if you want to stick with Wolfgang:
    Wolfgang Pre-Wax Polish Enhancer is absolutely fabulous for producing that elusive, show-ready wet-shine look. This polish actually enhances and
    I've seen good results with Pinnacle's version as well ($5 more) :
    Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion will restore and preserve your car's original beauty.
    And Collinite has a cheaper option as well:
    Collinite Sapphire PreWax Cleaner #840

    If it were me buying, I would go with Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing lotion.

    As for a soap, I'd suggest DP Xtreme Foam Formula:
    DP Xtreme Foam Formula High Yield Foaming Auto Shampoo- Foamaster gun car wash

    As for applying wax by hand:
    Pinnacle Foam Wax Applicator- Great applicators- Great results!
    Wax by machine:
    Cobra Cross Groove™ 6.5 Inch Flex Foam Buffing Pads,cobra foam polishing pads,foam buffer pads,dual action pads,cross groove pads,waffle pads (In Blue or Red)
    OR
    Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Pads 6 Pack, foam pad kit, build a kit, buffing pads, curved edge pads (In Gray or Blue)

    Samples are your friend
    I suggest trying smaller sizes and then when you find what you like, wait for it to go on BOGO or buy in BULK, that's what I did

    Btw, Collinite #840 is not for clear coat vehicles.

    I don't use a pre-cleaner before polishing. I only use them when I want to take off old wax to put a new coat on.

    If you want to stick with wolfgang for your entire process, a sealant is also offered.

    D'oh! I knew there was a reason I had only used it on my old Dakota!

    For the record, I don't use a prewax cleaner either. I use a cleanse all exterior cleaner that's citrus based for washing and then I use a clay bar so that's all the "prewax cleaning" that I need
