Care of black trim after painting?
Hello,
I recently purchased and applied Wurth Satin Black Trim Paint to the trim (cladding, bumpers, grill, door handles) on my Nissan Xterra. It looks great! I have a couple of questions, however, about next steps:
- How soon after painting the trim can I wash the vehicle? I plan to use Meguiar’s Wash and Wax car shampoo.
- Is there anything I should or should not use to care and protect the trim paint going forward? For instance, some kind of “quick detailer” spray or polish or wax?
Thanks for all the help!

Re: Care of black trim after painting?
I would think you should be able to wash it after a couple of days.
It would probably would be a good idea to keep sealers or waxes away from the painted areas for a month or so, as you would with automotive polyurethane paints.
Looks like a nice product, did you go over any old steel trim?
Would be nice to get feedback on longevity of this product, I have a use for it on my daughters Jeep..
enjoy life while you can
