Question What product should I get to do this faster?

This customer heavily neglected his wheels and it took two hours just to clean up his wheels. I used Mother's polish to get to the point on the left. I had to use A LOT of the bottle to get all of the wheels done in all of the crevices. Is there a higher end product that could do the same effect but faster?

I tried claying as well...that didnt work

I need an answer ASAP, because I have three cars next week from referrals and the sooner I get the correct and more effective product...the better!!

    Thanks all.

    John

Mothers mag and aluminium is not ment to be used on factory clearcoated wheels so you need to put that down. What type(s) of wheel cleaners have you already tried?

Meguiars wheel brightener would tear through that faster than a hot knife through butter.

Amazing Roll Off will also work well on clearcoated wheels.(And VERY quickly)

Ummm... It looks like the clear is compromised in a few spots on those rims, especially around the center cap. Wheel Brightener or any acidic cleaner of the sort COULD potentially cause a bigger problem on that exposed aluminum. Most likely, turn it black. I'd go with the ARO.

Meguiars wheel brightener will not turn aluminum black(where do you get this from?) and if you are worried about it causing any type of damage than make sure you properly rinse all residue off like you should with every other wheel cleaner. To be extra safe you could give the wheels a quick spray of any APC to neutralize it.

I dont think pictures of dirty wheel that can be wiped clean with a finger be a viable example of ARO's cleaning ability. Not knocking on it as ARO is an effective product also. Meg's wheel brightener is a product that I think everybody who details for a living or as a side job should have on hand. Not every car you work on is going to have perfectly clean rims. The majority of new customers you receive will have trashed wheels that haven't been cleaned in years.

Alright, I think I will get the Meg's Brightener (D140). These wheels took entirely way too long to clean. It was ridiculous. I hope you guys are right and this stuff works!

I am assuming you all are saying it will correct up to years of neglected wheels right? The damage on the center caps was there before we got there. These wheels were heavily neglected and curbed. The customer told me he only "washed" his car "once or twice a summer."
