Help with first large purchase
Here is my situation. I just bought a new pearl white TSX and want to maintain it like it should be maintained, especially since I recently moved to the Phoenix area and have the brutal sun/dust to deal with. I also have a three stage red Mustang "toy car" that needs some misbuffs and swirls removed so it has the paint it deserves. I'm going to be making my first large purchase and want to see if I'm picking the right products or if there are some things that may work better than others. I realize there is a certain degree of personal opinion but any comments would be appreciated. This is what I have picked out so far:
Wolfgang Duo & Porter 7424XP kit
XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner (buy one get one free)
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Total Concours Kit
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran (since the TSX is white and I've read Liquid Souveran is good for light colors)
Wash bucket/grit guard combo kit
ShMITT White/Yellow Wash Mitt
Guzzler Combo Kit
This puts me right around $400 where I'd like to be. Are there any suggestions for a better bang for the buck or if something will work better for my goals?
Thanks!
-Mike

Of course you can always add/subtract if you feel that it's too much or tool little.
The G110v2 kit comes with CCS pads. I like the flat pads better so you might ask for those. I also like the 5.5 inch pads better than the 6.5 inch. You can also get the Liquid Soveran as it does look good on ligher cars. It kinda does the same thing as the WG Deep Gloss Paint Sealant as it is a sealant, but it also is a wax as well since there is some carnauba. I chose the Maxwax since it brings out flake. I'm not sure if your car has flake, but most Honda's do. Your choice and happy detailing

Re: Help with first large purchase
Definitely go with 5.5" backing plate and 5.5" pads. I'd go M105/M205 over the WG polishes.

For 5.5" pads, you'll want to use a 5" backing plate (you need to have some clearance for safety)

I'm still going through the options I'll post up when I submit the order.
I'm sure when I have the stuff I'll be asking a bunch more questions!

I have the Home Depot buckets and now want something better. They are very cheap and fit the grit guard but they do not make a great seat. The lid which presses on like most paint buckets will crack unlike the spin on sealing tops found on the much pricier ones. Also, the ideal wash bucket should be more translucent.
