Question Brinkman Dual Xenon Spotlight vs Brinkmann Dual LED Spotlight

Has anyone used the Brinkmann Maxfire Dual LED Spotlight?

Was curious to know if anyone knows how it compares to the Dual Xenon spotlight.

I've got the dual Xenon as well as a separate LED. If you want the best of both worlds Brinkmann makes a dual model with 1 LED and 1 Xenon.

Re: Brinkman Dual Xenon Spotlight vs Brinkmann Dual LED Spotlight

I recall seeing a few posts on "A"nother board where some guys had both the Xenon Brinkmann most of us use and that same LED Brinkmann you posted; the LED one seemed to do well at showing different types of defects than the Xenon one did due to different color temp.

I think I'm going to pick up one of the LED ones to have alongside the Xenon one.

Re: Brinkman Dual Xenon Spotlight vs Brinkmann Dual LED Spotlight

We have used the LED ones for quite some time now. The only place that carried it was Bass Pro Shops. Even Brinkman did not have the dual LED one, just the LED/Normal one.

The LED shows finer defects better. The light is twice as intense, and trails really show up far away from the light's focus. Since it is so bright, it is not good for looking at swirls. I'm sure it lights them up, but it hurts the eyes and they cannot "see" anything. Even on the "one LED" mode.

The "Xenon" version shows all defects very well, but we find the LED adds a little for the machine trails and fine stuff. We have used both simultaneously since we picked up the LED one. For the price it is a no-brainer.

Here is a pic of us using both:

Here you can see the LED shows a nice trail right off the bat where the Xenon shows just a hint of it. The defects were pretty homogeneous along the portion inspected.

It seems the LED/Xenon would be the best of both worlds, rather than having two devices.

Except you get less output than the dual led and not enough of the xenon for the best swirl detection. I still prefer to have the output of two of the bulbs at the same time. For $30 bucks getting an additional light is no big deal. The chargers are different, though. The LED charger is labeled as such.

I appreciate the information, I'm looking at a tool to detect hologram, buffing trail, haze and it seems the LED one is the one to go.
