Collinite 476S vs. 915
915 is easier work with (supposedly) and promises to contain more carnauba for a wetter look, but at a slight loss of durability. The cost per ounce is quite similar between the two considering that 915 is sold in a larger container.
Has anyone used both and can comment on their differences?
Also, how long can I expect a 9 oz can of 476S to last me? I have never used paste wax before. Will a 9 oz can of 476S last me as long as a pint of sealant? Basically, the question is will I use more or less of a paste wax per application compared to a liquid sealant.

I have found that 915 has had better durability than 476 in some cases, but in others 476 bested 915 so I think they are pretty equal. They are both just as easy to use when applied sparingly, but I find that 915 is a bit easier and leaves a slightly better finish overall as well as very good durability.
One tub of either will last you an extremely long time; I have only used a quarter of my 476s and I have done at least 20 cars with it. I find that it is much easier to apply a paste wax sparingly and thus get the most out of the wax per application over a liquid sealant/wax.

If you don't put 915 on THIN, it's a pain to remove, and worse it will streak! I made the mistake of applying it to thick on black paint. When I pulled the car into the sun, there were darker splotches all over the hood. Had to wipe down with a lot of QD to get it looking better. If used properly, 915 is VERY durable and looks good!

I would also go with the 915. Neither offer an exceptional shine, but the durability is great .

I thought my 915 looked excellent. Goes on pretty thin, and removal is a breeze.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I guess I'll just go with 915 then.
With a properly polished car, differences in appearance between waxes and sealants are minimal at best, right?

That really depends on the products used. For instance Wolfgang sealant is one that gives a warm carnauba look but is not known for its extreme longevity like Collinite products. In the looks department Collinite will not compare to, say, P21S wax as far as looks but is considerably more durable.
What has worked for me to amp up the look/shine/depth is to go over the car with Dura Gloss Aqua Wax the next day after Collinite has cured. Optimum spray wax can also be used for a bit more "glow".

I have to agree with alot of those who have posted. Collinite 476 is used more for its durability than looks. Here in Michigan the winter weather will eat your finish up in days. Salts, sand and snow have a way of turning your work into you know what.
I put a couple thin coats on back in September and still have it beading up. When the weather warms up I can begin doing the winter correction.
As other have said you can put a coat of 476 down and apply your other favorites over it, etc. This way you get the best of both worlds.
