    Premixed ONR

I premixed a gallon of ONR to use as QD. After about 2 weeks the color of the product has faded greatly. It was a dark blue and is now baby blue looking. It sits in my garage and it gets to around 40F here in Cali at night. Is the effectiveness compromised?

    Re: Premixed ONR

The color will go from blue to clear and it is just a result of the dye used in the product. Dr. G from Opt has said that it doe not effect anything and it is just because of the dye used in ONR fades once mixed and left out.

Yup, the smell goes as well as the color, but it works just as well.

    Pie,

One additional bit of info regarding your concern about temperatures: your ONR will be fine with the temp you reported.
I emailed Optimum to inquire about storing various products in a cold garage during the Winter months here in NJ and here's the communication trail for your review:

So my question is: am I safe to keep my Optimum products in a cold but above-freezing temperature such as I'll have in a few months? In case this answer would depend on the individual product(s): I currently have your ONR, Power Clean and your Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer.

    Thanks.

    and their reply:

    James,

Thank you for your email and using the Optimum Car Care products. Among the Optimum products you mentioned only Instant Detailer can be affected by freezing. The other products that will be affected by freezing are Poli-Seal, Polish, Finish, Compound, Protectant Plus, and the tire dressings.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks again.

    Re: Premixed ONR

It has been said elsewhere that if you use de-ionized water the color does not change. It changes went mixed with tap water. I have never tried to prove this.

    Re: Premixed ONR

Chlorine in tap water turns the ONR solution clear, I think. Try using distilled H2O from the supermarket next time.

    Re: Premixed ONR

I can tell you that I have a water softener that removes all chlorine etc. Still, over time my premix ONR fades color. Glad I clicked on this link though! Now I know it doesn't matter
