3M Clear Bra swirl marks removal suggestions?

    Hi guys,

I've been searching around the web trying to find a good source for information regarding correcting swirl marks out of a clear bra and I haven't been very successful at finding anything concrete.

Could you guys take a look at the images below and let me know what the best solution would be? The car is a 2007 Mazda 3 Sedan and the paint is a non-metallic red. Please excuse the dirt as the pictures were taken a day after a rain fall.

I know you're supposed to tape up the edge of 3M film when polishing as to not get any residue stuck in between, but, what steps should I take and what materials do I need to get rid of those nasty swirl marks?

    All help is greatly appreciated,

    Darius

Did you try rubbing alcohol? It works sometimes, but it is only when needed. Don't do it a lot.

Never tried that. I could try a tiny spot to test it out. I haven't done any paint correction to my car yet, but would going over it with a polisher using a swirl removal product be harmful?

FWIW, I've had great luck removing swirls on clear bras using the WG duo (TSR 3.0 and FG 3.0).

I've also heard of people using a lite polish. Like zaino Z-PC or Z-AIO. You want something with no petroleum in it. Petroleum yellows the clear bra.

Matt what pad did you use? I know the bra scratches easy, and heard of people using too aggressive a polish for it.

I have a couple of Menzerna products at the moment:

    Menzerna SIP (PO83)
    Menzerna Nano Polish (PO106)

Would either of those work on the clear bra?

I remember reading that a guy over on autopia used 106FA and a white LC pad for his 3m bra. He said it worked. He said to use low speed with light pressure. Too much heat will melt the plastic. SIP is too strong for a clear bra.

Cool. I do have an LC white pad as well. I'll have to try that out.

I've been able to use a few polishes with good results on them. As per the above post, use low speeds and don't get it too hot.
