Is this the only type of light to see swrils? I'm looking to buy a compact light to use to inspect my work. Any suggestions?

I have read that some of the powerful LED flashlights also work well for swirl detection. Google Fenix TK10 and you will see something that is a popular choice. Warning, not a cheap light by any means though.

Flourescent works, too. I think it's more important to get a high-powered light as opposed to worrying about LED vs Flourescent vs Halogen, etc.

All different types of lighting would be optimal. LED, flourescent, halogen, incandescent, all show marring that one or the other wont.

BTW, the led flashlights that work in this type of situation actually cost more than a quality halogen set.
