Megs Deep Crystal...Please dude, that's not a soap, that's more of a soapy mixture leftover...
Some of the very best soaps for your money would be Optimum, and Duragloss.

Seemed to do an OK job for gewb.
As did the Blue Coral which is not exactly a boutique product, either.

Re: 5 exterior shampoos - my observations

I am considering buying this stuff for the VIP special but I have a few questions.

My understanding is this stuff is good for removing tar and how about bugs? Do you use full strength or mix with water? My wife's white car gets lots of this stuff.

Lastly, has anyone tried this stuff on a black car? I would be afraid to use it to wash but how about for a quick detail?

Deep Crystal is what I use in my dedicated wheel bucket. mostly to drop my brushes in.

I LOVE the Wolfgang Auto bathe, Pinnacle and DG901.

I found the Blue Coral worked better on mag chloride than other OTC washes or boutiques, not great but better. The end results don't lie. However, I don't use BC any other time, only when there is mag chloride on the finish.

As for the Meg's I got it free with my NXT 2 so I tried it and found it to be an ok OTC wash. What I found interesting was the Meg's did a better job of removing the tar whiskers than the boutiques. Again the end results told me the story.

haha I remember Blue Coral back in the day, at least I think it was a Blue Coral wash I had, was blue and had these little gold ball wax things in it that were supposed to wax while washing.

    I loooooooove my Duragloss Wash.

FWIW, I saw Blue Coral at Wally World for $3.44 a gallon tonight.
Didn't happen to see if it had any "gold balls" in it, though.
I happen to use Meg's Gold Class for conventional bucket washes, but I seem to be using the rinseless products more all the time.

No gold balls in the BC wash I have. There are two products I found (several years ago) - one with "wax" and one without. I used the one without. I bought 1/2 gallon four or five years ago - still have 1/4 of it left (as I posted, only use it during mag chloride season).

Wow, you guys never let up do you?
Gewb used 5 shampoos and the suggested additions are somewhere around 6 or 7 more. (I lost count )
I thought it was amazing that he had 5 on hand to try, but having a dozen might be asking a little too much.
Maybe you could send him some samples and he could report back his findings.
Then again, he may have done his share of testing for now.
Anyway, thanks for an interesting thread gewb.
