    Optimum Polish/General Polish Questions

    Hi,

Just a few questions about properly using mild auto polishes, such as Optimum Polish, assuming using a Porter Cable with White Pad.

1.) Will Optimum Polish, or Klasse AIO, or any mild polish remove water spots?

2.) I know that Klasse AIO can be applied this way, but can I apply a polish (again, such as Opt Polish) to the whole vehicle with my PC and then buff it all off at once?

3.) Do I have to really work the polish in to remove the existing paint protection? It's one thing to go in over-lapping motions at speed 3-4 over the whole vehicle, it's quite another (time-consuming) thing to work in 2x2 sections, spending 3-5 minutes on each section.

    Thanks,
    Emile

    Re: Optimum Polish/General Polish Questions

Optimum polishes are known for their longer work times, and it translates to your question three in that you will need to work it for quite a while to break down and flash from paste form.

I do not find you should let polish (abrasive) sit on the finish and much prefer to buff off immediately panel by panel and check work. Getting a friend to help works also ... polish on , polish off ... then you buy the beer.

    Re: Optimum Polish/General Polish Questions

Optimum polish is one of my favorites. I've taken out some pretty bad swirls, holograms, and water spots with it. The long work time is OK with me because it always breaks down to LSP ready. I actually think it saves time over a two step process.
The AIO will probably not do much to water spots unless very recent.
