    Re: what is sweating

My first guess would be the wax causing moisture build up when not fully cured during quick temperature changes. I could be way off though....

This is the haze from using a high nuba content wax or using too much. I need to add to this, it is the haze after removing a high nuba content wax or applying too much.

    Re: what is sweating

As a wax ‘sets-up’, it goes through a number of stages.

    • The first stage is the application of the liquid product; friction will cleanse the dirt, oxidization, old waxes etc. In effect you are lifting the dirt away from the paintwork and into the liquid wax and then into the applicator.

    • The next stage is that you leave the wax to haze. This is where the solvents and oils out gas (*evaporate) and leave the resin and fillers behind to dry and set-up on the paint.

    • Next you remove the excess. Anything that is now not bonded to the paint will be wiped away with the buffing towel and as you wipe away you will end up giving the resin a slight buff to bring out its gloss

    Re: what is sweating

Yes, sweating is the oils/solvents continuing to evaporate after you have buffed the wax off. It forms a haze on some areas of the car (IME, on hood and front fenders due to engine heat and subsequent cooling). It can go on for days depending on temp/humidity. Washing the car or wiping with chilled distilled water helps.

    Re: what is sweating

the thing that rings important is the haze has originally been buffed of and removed yet appears to come back later as if to reappear.
