Lights for the garage......
I'm afraid to ask this question as I spent so much money the last couple of weeks but I need to polish my car in the garage as I have no shaded areas around my house. So the question is .....what kind of halogen light and stand do I need to get in terms of wattage and ability to raise and lower the stand to do the roof, doors, etc.? No idea on what wattage to get and if more means better.
Thanks,
Howard

I got a craftsman from sears. I believe it has dual 500W lights so 1000W in all. It is very bright....

I have 4 of those Halogen Lights attached to my garage ceiling and a tri pod with 2 lights on it. Those lights get real hot too. But I can see!

What do you mean by wanting to get LED? How does that play into using Halogens?

I would not use the Halogens and use the LED. It shows the swirls as good if not better and produces little to no heat unlike the 1000w halogens

Thanks for the follow up and this does make think twice. I would really like to get away from the heat of halgen, I just don't like it. Thats O-kay though I will keep looking and something will turn up. Oh bye the way, You are helping a die hard RED SOX fan.
