well , theres different degrees of damage. Could you toss the Flex at car or lose grip and damage one, certainly. Is it powerful enough to cut paint if held in one area (say a corner) for a long time, yes ! They are however different beasts, a rotary is a cutting device and uses speed and heat to correct. The Flex, while quite powerful, still orbits and is considered safer for hobbist. The Flex is about twice as powerful as a PC, and thus making the grounds between ROB and Rotary quite a bit smaller.

how does the makita BO6040 compare to the flex? I'd have to find one in HK which uses 220V...
