Exclamation Quick review - Meguiar's wheel brightener.

I tried this stuff recently, after receiving my package from AG. Anyway, I followed directions on the bottle, filled the bottle with water first, then added wheel cleaner...And of course I was wearing gloves. This stuff is acid based (PH 5.0-5.5), so I don't want any chemical burns to take place. I got a foam sprayer and a refill bottle from Autodetailingsolutions (since AG don't carry those, I just wanted oroginal bottle, that's all). I rinsed the wheel first, doing one wheel at a time (working on my daily driver, which seems to dust a little) then sprayed it one, and left it for 1 minutes...Agitated with a brush (OXO feather brush and EZ brush were used, as I still like them better on wheels then even Swissvax wheel brush, because I'm lazy and OXO does the same job but faster) and rinsed really well. I didn't want to leave any acidic solution on wheels (I think they are clearcoated from factory, orinigal Infiniti wheels from touring package)...Followed the same process on all 4 wheels...Results were simply amazing! Now this stuff really cleans. The inside on my wheels was mostly a problem, as I don't bother cleaning inside the wheel every wash, just on a monthly basis...There was some baked on brake dust the P21S wheel cleaner gel coudn't remove, and after seing Nica's review of this stuff, I finally gave in and got some of it for myself.

I wouldn't use it every wash, as I think it's a bit too harsh. But everytime I ran across this kind of a dirty wheels, this is the solution. Just be very carefull with it, not to spray any on yourself, as this stuff is strong!

To achieve excellence, excellence cannot be rushed. Technique is just as important as the product used.
While my approach takes more time, the results are far superior.

oh yeah, when you need a really strong wheel cleaner - this is it...Pretty cost effective too...I wish P21S wheel cleaner gel would cost this much...

I may give it a try, I use stuff called Flame and it is incredibily harsh, but works better than anything else I have used.

it appears to me, and maybe I am wrong, that this product is best for the pro-detailer. It seems plenty on strong and medium wheel cleaners exist for the hobbist and premixed and ready for use.

Correct, Scott. Only when others don't work, not on weekly basis...It's so acidic, it turned my grey concrete white...

Which wheel type(s) did you clean? I need a heavy-duty wheel cleaner (DP Wheel/Tire cleaner gel kinda-worked, but after 5 applications, still got spots that DP won't get out). My `01 Denali has aluminum wheels; the brakes were done a couple of months ago, and the NAPA higher-end pads are quite dirty/dusty, and that dirt/dust is pretty sticky (even on glazed wheels!)...

Having helped you this weekend, I don't think you've explained the problem adequately.

On your aluminum wheels you have black spots that are not coming out. We've tried clay bar, DP Gel Wheel Cleaner, NevrDull, and even Walmart Blue Magic Metal Polish and all have had no effect.

I am curious if the Wheel Brightener will help, I just think these spots are pits in the wheel surface since even clay bar and NevrDull couldn't help.

So my question to the OP would be: do you think Meg's will help with such pitted wheels etc?
