    pad/polish combo suggestions

I was hoping you all could help me out. I have several pads and polishes. What I was wanting to know is what pad will go with what polish to get the best results. Here's a list of what I have.

    Polish's: Poorboys 2.5, 2.0, 1.0. Optimum Hyper and Polish. Meg's# 80. Sonus SFX #2 & #3.

Pads:Sonus SFX #1(yellow) #2(white) #3(blue). Wolgang Concours White Polishing, Blue Final Finishing, Black Final Finishing, Orange Light Cutting, Yellow Cutting.

You dont to lisy every combo, just the ones you know will worl well together. Thanks everyone!! Gregg

It truly depends upon the paint. Just remember pads are just as abrasive as polishes, so less is usually a good starting place. You will need to research Sonus pads in case they differ:

    yellow --- harsh
    orange --- abrasive
    white --- middle ground
    grey --- finishing polish
    blue --- wax/sealant removal

    polishes:

    Optimum Hyper --- compound
    SSR 2.5 , Optimum Polish --- abrasive
    80, SSR 2.0 --- slightly less abrasive
    1.0 --- finishing polish

I usually start with a white pad and a middle polish like 2.0 or 2.5 and move to a more abrasive pad only as needed. If nothing is getting done, then I move up a polish.
