I think it wasn't till the last decade they kept some of the power the same in the mills right?? The LT4 was 650hp across the board right (Vette ZL-1, CTV)? And some other mills.
I stand corrected, great example of age and misremembering it. While looking it up it appears only 50 of them made it into the 1986 model year, pretty rare Gloss black IROC-Z attacked by a rotary..

My ‘86 with the LG4 code 305 (carbureted) and 5spd did a 16.8sec quarter mile. Pitiful!

I was so embarrassed because my friend had a ‘93 Fox Body Stang doing 14 flat that day.

I couldn’t even 60ft him with the 5spd because I had an open diff. It was a sharp looking Camaro though!

The 80's and 90's had so many cool rides, so much character and their own style. Yes by todays standards alot are very slow, but at the time they were what was quick. And fun.
So many cool stuff from the American brands, Camaros and Firebirds, Vettes of coarse, Buick GN, Monte Carlo SS, Hurst Olds/442, 5.0 Mustangs, Vipers coming into play, pickups showing up with Syclone, Typhoon, 454SS, and the first Lightning showed up and got way better. Even the Eagle Talon and Stealth were cool.
I see nice cars today and for sure take notice. But some of the older stuff drives by, 60's right on up, and you stop and take them in.
