Re: What do you do to make your Wheel Cleaning Easier

Bill, did you have that house custom built? Or you just added the lift in the "standard" garage? Do you have water and a sink in the garage?

Re: What do you do to make your Wheel Cleaning Easier

I had the house built in 2008. I spent a lot of time planning the dimensions so the two post lift could fit with no problem. Yes, I have a utility sink and spigots for a hose. That’s how I wash in the garage.

Getting this all built from scratch was considerably cheaper than trying to find an existing house with a three car garage in my budget or trying to add all of these features to an existing house. I was very fortunate to get a lot that accommodates my house and to have a builder that worked so much with me to make my garage a reality.

That was my experience too. I might be able to blast off the top layer of brake dust with a pressure washer, but it still took wheel cleaner and agitation of some sort to get the wheels totally clean. Even after the wheels had a coating applied to them.

I used to use 845 on my wheels applied mainly using a foam paint brush. It was tedious but it seemed to last. I’m just wondering if I would get the same degree of protection using a spray product

Coating wheels goes by quick-quicker IME with the AutoFiber Saver *finger* applicator on detailed spokes (if it allows). Alot faster than using a flat mitt for sure.

I was thinking about this.....ever clean concrete with a -surface- cleaner vs. just a single nozzle PW tip.
To analogize, akin to the surface cleaner, that is what I need in my life....

This gives me reason to look into AutoFiber

Brown Royal Wheel Cleaner can get your wheels clean without agitation, especially if you use a power washer.

It’s the only wheel cleaner I’ve ever used capable of removing 20yrs. of baked on brake dust in 1 try like it was nothing.

I use a rolling stool to sit on when cleaning wheels and polishing the sides of vehicles. I have bad knees and this is prolonging their life!

I’ve been eyeing that for years. I doubt with the condition of wheels I wash I would even need a power washer. I just hope Brown Royal is as gentle as it is effective (on lightly dirty wheels)

It actually feels gentler than just about any other wheel cleaner I’ve ever used. It’s non acid.

The thing is, even if your wheels don’t get that dirty you still have to agitate to get them clean, right? If your wheels really didn’t get that dirty then they would always be touchless and you’d never hate cleaning them. Lol.

I went to the coin op last night. Something I hadn’t done in years… What the hell was I doing at the coin op? I wanted to used their power washer to see if this really works the way they show in the videos. I can confirm it really works! Makes me want to buy a pressure washer.
