Yeah read it when you first posted. That’s why I posted what I read on website… not required.

I get that’s what you think hurt the coating because you read that on the bottle.

Personally I believe it was Detrimental Dr Beasley’s woulda specifically stated that it could interfere with bonding. If anything maybe remove the primer and I would GUESS coating shoulda still adhere.

Also did you re watch video or read my other statements? The video states they did a rinseless, not a Prep wipe…. Kinda makes yours and I discussion moot…

I didn’t hear what specifically they wiped with, but whatever it was couldn’t have been ideal vs. allowing the primer to work as intended.

From everything they state on the label I believe that interfering by using anything between the primer and coating would be a negative result. I believe one would be much better off using a different polish or primer if choosing to do a panel wipe in between.

It seems like they created that primer unlike most other products that are available and for them to go out of their way to instruct the user to not do a wipedown after using the polish and go straight to coating I feel is for good reason.

Old habits can be hard to break… Think of how many people struggle with the concept of using the Zap Cloth. I mailed my 1st Zap Cloth to Bill D. because I wanted him to try it and the 1st thing he said was “yea I’m thinking of what microfiber towel would be good to dry the residue with” even after I had told him they want you to allow it to self dry and they promise streak free but he couldn’t believe that and neither do alot of people because it doesn’t make traditional sense. Lol.

I bet there’s a handful of guys out there waterless washing their black cars using a Zap Cloth as directed with plain water and they don’t install swirls but nobody believes them.

I had a weird failure of Optimum Gloss Coat. At about the 5 year mark, it seemed to turn into a film. It left this weird film that wouldn't come off with a wash. You could see exactly where I had taped off around emblems and such. Those non-coated areas still looked fine. I finally polished it with Sonax EX 04-06 with tangerine pads. It polished off very easily and the paint still looked great under it. It left this greasy black film on the pads that wouldn't wash off. I ended up trashing the pads.
