I think the issue is hot sun/black paint/weak protection.

I don’t have much faith in any Montan Wax. The ones I’ve used have offered weak protection that didn’t last on daily drivers parked outside.

If I were you I’d compound again, followed by a finishing polish such as Meguiars M205 or Perfecting Cream. Then protect it with something more sturdy, maybe step up to ceramic. Cancoat is very user friendly, just make sure to use Gyeon Prep.

Hence the Sonic Pilot...funny when Eldo said AZ I started typing that I used to work with someone that was stationed at Nellis and had a Caprice that he had from new that was only about 5 years old then that the rear deck was all cracked from that NV sun. Sounds like it's time for a wrap--you can tell your friends you did it to reduce the signature of your ride.

Did a lot of flying for Nellis as a DOD contractor. Loved every minute of it!

Janet Air? In that case, why not just bring home some reverse engineered PPF and never have to worry about it fading again.Recommendations for oxidation remover

That anti-gravity PPF doesn't work on Cadillacs, Eldo.

Yep! That's what it sounds like to me too.

While you can improve the appearance in the short-term, the failure process has already begun and whatever improvement you make will be limited by that fact. The improvement will not be long lived, and the finish will continue to degrade at a faster rate than a more sound finish.

That accelerated degradation rate is the reason that any improvement you can achieve will not last very long.
