She's the fool for spending the money and then letting the car go to hell. Too bad she didn't just hire you to do weekly washes. I do hope the coating is okay under the filth.

I’ve washed my hand of the situation. I was very explicit before doing the job that the main factor affecting the life expectancy of the coating is the maintenance routine. Unfortunately the vehicle needs a coating as opposed to most people wanting one. She bought it from her brother and even though it was only three years old at the time of the coating, the paint was very thin thanks to neglect, the thinnest on any vehicle I’ve worked on.

I told her that around late September I would invite her and her husband back to show them how to do a deeper clean using Descale. I kept my word and contacted her but she was too busy to stop by. She then called me in mid November and I asked her how had she been maintaining the vehicle since it was coated. She hadn't was the answer. Aside from rinsing off the car with their hose she nor her husband had done nothing. This is after I walked her and her son through the process of doing a rinseless wash and got them the necessary products. Now they have a dirty SUV with water spots. Stuff like this makes me want to stop being so nice and just coat these cars and send people on their way.
That basically comes down to pure laziness.
She opted for a coating because she thought it meant no effort was required, that it would be an impervious barrier. Laziness.
The lack of washing, even after being informed about the importance of doing so, that's laziness.
Now her laziness has come home to roost.
And yet, if you hadn't explained the importance of coating maintenance, how to and when to do it, your name would then be dragged through the mud because "I paid lots of money for a coating and it didn't work properly, he ripped me off....."
Can't win sometimes.

I might pick up that steamer for general use. My existing one is forgotten.
