Not all plastic trim is created equal. Sometimes no amount of cleaning will get it “ideal” as far as the prep. Sometimes it is prepped even though it doesn’t quite look totally prepped, but it is.

Yes.
And Solution Finish is a dye. It hides a lot of imperfections.

Many believe that SF is a dye and it's not. SF is refined graphite.

Sometimes old trim just chalky. With what you’ve tried I don’t think nothing else probably will.
Only thing I can think maybe to try and if they don’t work still nice products to have in arsenal

The wax residue will disappear when you apply SF. Some plastics will reject it all together.
