Lake Country CSS vs regular foam pads?

Do you prefer Lake Country CSS or the regular foam pads? If it's situational, when do you prefer one over the other?

I prefer the CCS pads. They run smoother and help to prevent pad skipping.

edit: I'm talking about the HDO CCS.

Flats all day long. I think they run cooler and are easier to clean.

    It's all personal preference.

You should try both and see what suits your style of polishing best. Some claim the CCS style or waffle style pads are less grabby and help prevent your polisher from "walking" or "skipping" which is usually more of an issue on rotary/forced rotation units. If you try both and don't see any difference then just go with whatever is cheaper.

As PaulMys mentioned, it's all personal preference.

I much prefer flat pads. My CCS is my least favorite pad. It just seems to hold product in the dimples and after a few sessions it gets hotter than flat pads. Lake Country Thin Pros and Rupes yellow are my favorite.

CCS or Hex Logic are my all time favorites.

The only time I'd advocate flat pads is when using a diminishing abrasive polish, but even then I've had excellent results using diminishes with CCS or Hex pads.

I wise the Hex pads were available in the 1", 3", 5", and 6" sizes.

At work we tested the blue HDO flat and CCS, and the CCs was so much nicer to use. It glided over the paint with ease, where the flat would jerk the polisher around more. On a 8mm tool it might nit be as big of a difference, but on the 15's we use at the shop, it was very noticeable.

The foam also has something to do with the feel as well. The denser pads like the HDO, or the Orange, and Yellow flat pads seem to exhibit a less desirable user experience than the Green and Blue Buff and Shine flats (same foam as the Hex Logics). I find the older style foams to out perform the dense pads in cutting, while also delivering a nicer user experience. Unfortunately, CG only makes the full line in the 5.5, and 6" sizes.

I see Buff and Shine as new pads called EdgeGuard. They are very unique. Might try the yellow one some day.

I notice when using CCS pads that they don't gunk up as bad.. I do like how they hold and spread. compound. I do use allot of ccs and get great results. recently I've been using plain pads by Buff and Shine.
