    Question Ceramic maintenance spray

We just bought a new vehicle and (as best I can tell) the previous owner had it ceramic coated. I know there are issues with compatibility, etc., but what would be a good product to use to maintain the ceramic coating? I have no idea what product was used on the car before we purchased it.

I was looking at Diamond Pro Tech but I’m really not sure what to use.

    thanks.

    Re: Ceramic maintenance spray

I used Diamond Pro Tech Quick Body and was very very unimpressed by it. The application, gloss, and slickness were nice but the water behavior or lack there of was not. I also think it may have seriously impacted the life of 22PLE HPC ceramic coating applied a few months prior. The coating was either significantly diminished by a salty Upstate NY winter, the Diamond Protech topper, or a combination of both. Either way avoid it. I think Guz had similar feelings on it.

Some good alternatives are Armour Detail Supply ceramic spray sealant or their Amplify detail spray, if budget isn't a concern Kamikaze Overcoat version whatever they're on is great, Polish Angel products are nice but overpriced, NV Nova Jet or Lustre are excellent, and Sonax Ceramic Spray Coating performs way way above it price point.

I could list many different products for this role, but to throw something out there that doesn't get a lot of mention, Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is one of my favorites. This seems to be ultra versatile in terms of what its put on top of, is easy to work with and delivers excellent gloss and slickness.

    Re: Ceramic maintenance spray

First and foremost you need to wash it frequently with a quality shampoo. Meguair's Hyper Wash is affordable and can be bought locally at harbor freight if need be. To maintain hydrophobic properties I'll put in another vote for Meguair's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer which can also be bought locally.

Here is a good video by fellow forum member Loach showing Hybrid Ceramic Detailer in action:

I'm a big fan of CarPro ECH2O which is really affordable when you mix it at 1:20. Armour Detail Amplify is another I've started using recently and really like.

    Re: Ceramic maintenance spray

Before you jump the gun and start buying new products give it a good washing and hit it with a hose or pressure washer and see the hydrophobics. Making sure the coating is still there would be my first order of business.

Americana Global - Detail Spray - Ceramic Pro

Ceramic Pro recommends this product. It's more than a detail spray as it leaves something behind. I tried it on my Ceramic Pro coated car after detailing it early April. Easy to apply and it's still going strong at this point. I'm hopeful for 2-3 months.
