That's a first generation griots garage polisher i see!!I really like mine, better than the G8 in build quality, i have one.
I’ve seen your posts. I was equally excited back when I 1st got my hands on them. I’m to the point where I need to pretty much replace them all and buy a new large batch after about 3yrs. of good use. They’re not cheap, but when it comes to pads like that, you get what you pay for.
Yes indeed. Griots Boss 21mm. I have both the 5” and 6” backing plates, I usually run it with the 6” backing plate. I’ve been meaning to change the brushes on the motor as it sometimes needs a slap or 2 to remind itself to start and I can sometimes see some sparks inside the machine. I have 2 sets of brushes in a drawer somewhere.
Pads are pretty important.
The orange CCS/HDO is my favorite. I even tried to sell all my pads locally but car polishing is really not common here.

I recently brought back out my Meguiar's products and yes, M205 on those or the yellow Rupes /Buff and Shine still kick a lot of rear.
I've been loving M110, M210 as well. They did a good job with those abrasives.

I’ve got a quart of M210 collecting dust on my shelf. I gotta be honest I don’t really like it. IMO it just doesn’t wow me with anything that it does.
-It can’t cut, or can’t cut as good or anywhere near M205.
-it doesn’t smell good. I just took a whiff and it smells like charcoal briquettes.
-it doesn’t really have any telling characteristics during use that indicate when you’ve reached the time of completion.
-It’s never wowed me as far as shine factor after using it. The lack of cutting ability certainly doesn’t help it achieve in that area.
-Maybe I had my hopes too high, but can you blame me?
Just my 2 cents. I’ll take M205 over it everyday.
What?

So the yellow foam uro-tec is much the same has the rupes yellow foam?
I was just looking for chilly's post lol
Did you ever heard of the waxedshine polishers - chilly? They look great too. If i was looking for a new machine they would be of interest.
Waxedshine?
Do you mean Maxshine?
If so then yes, I am familiar with them
I’m looking hard at their new M0312 Mini Polisher

No waxedshine. Its an america brand and they sell really nice looking DA's. I'm really surprised they don't get mentioned more.
Hmmmmm, I don't think I had heard of them before but who knows
There are soooooo many new (or new to me) detailing supply companies that I easily lose track
I clicked on a YouTube video the other day thinking it was a channel I was familiar with and it was someone totally new to me
The guy had his own line of detailing products that I am 99% sure were custom bottling jobs like so many others
There simply aren't that many blending houses out there
His practices were also very sketchy so I immediately wrote him and "his products" off
I just gave the Waxedshine website the once over and the machines seem to have very similar specs to so many of the rebadged private label machines out there
There is probably nothing wrong with them but not knowing the brand I think I would need to see some long term use and reviews before pulling the trigger on one
You overthink. HAHA
So you have no polisher right now?
It breaks my heart but in all honesty i will probably get the rupes mark 3 if my machine breaks down. Beautiful machines and the extra long cord would be great for my situation.
That or think really hard about a cordless..but those things are very noisy. Probably wear ear protection for them.
