    vinyl tonneau cover protection

There are ceramic coatings for long term protection for paint and plastic trim. What about for flexible vinyl truck bedcovers?

I'm looking for a product that won't wash away so easily; leaving the vinyl bedcover exposed and unprotected after a heavy rain. I've only used 303. However, here in South Florida, we get heavy downpours often, which just washes away water based products. Then what happens?? That intense S FL sun comes out after a 15 min thunderstorm and you are left with bedcover that's baking without any protection left on it.

Anyone have experience using CarPro Cquartz Leather Coating on external vinyl?

Are there any other products you would recommend?

    Gtechniq HALO Flexible Film Coating

Could give this coating a try on your vinyl tonneau cover. I just bought some for my vinyl wrapped car but have not installed it yet, so I can’t share any personal experience. Reviews are very good though.

I use what ever I use on the paint for the vehicle. Any sealant or coating will do a good job. Just make sure to really clean the vinyl well first so the product binds to it.

I asked Mike about this the other day on his forum. He stated that the truck was sold so he couldn't provide any long term review, but he did say that at the one month point it had lost quite a bit of it's hydrophobics.

Loosing Mike is not good for Autogeek. He left pretty huge shoes to fill!

That makes sense. That product is formulated for leather, so interior and not exposed to the elements. I would put normal coating instead of leather coating on something outside the vehicle.

Bingo. And the sad part is that the man they initially introduced as his "replacement" hasn't been heard from since..............
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I saw a video of a car show and Mike now works for 3D/HD. Not a company I am a fan of, but I am sure he will increase their presence on the market, like Yvan Lacroix did for Optimum. It's funny that since Yvan left Optimum, I have not heard from them. An other company that had a huge loss.
