Can’t get these stripes off my tires - help please!

I'm going to sand them lightly. I did a test area and it looked 'ok. I want to upgrade them anyway in a month or two with some michelins.

I used to run with a guy who had his racing license (motorcycle). He had to buy new tires because the areas where you have the stripes wore out faster than the bottom of the tires. If I still talked to him, I would tell you to let him take your bike for a ride - just for a few miles - and he would get rid of the stripes for you LOL
