Removing CQuartz UK & SiC high spots

I coated my vehicle today with 2 coats of UK 3.0 and a topper coat of SiC.

I noticed some spots were there was left over wax residue even with a double panel wipe and I expect I will have some high spots to correct.

A couple of questions:

1) Should I knock out any areas that need to be done ASAP?

2) Will I need to polish the whole panel or can I work the spot and surrounding area?

3) Will something like M205 knock out a high spot if I use a white or orange pad?

4) Can I immediately recoat area after I polish and perform panel wipe again?

Was it left over polish? What polish did you end up using?

If it is an actual coating high spot, if you catch it relatively soon you can remove it by adding more coating. It also depends if the high spot is from SiC or UK. If it is from UK then get ready to polish that high spot out and recoating the area.

Being that it is fresh you can get away with spot correcting, panel wiping and re-coating.

If you had some Essence Plus, that also works to level out the high spot without reapplying the coating.

Thanks Guz. I'm going to inspect tomorrow. My lighting wasn't the greatest and I felt rushed frankly since I had to apply the second coat and SiC in 1 hour intervals. The Viper has a lots of scoops and ducts. I do think I will have polish residue in one area.

If I have to repolish, what I have on hand is m205, Griot's perfecting or fast correcting creme, or Sonax Profilene np-03.

Is there one you wood pick out of those? I would pair with a lake country thinpro pad (either white or orange).

This is exactly what happened to me, I underestimated the importance of propper lighting. Then one day I walked out of Coscto on a cloudy day with my polarized sunglasses and saw a huge streak running down the passenger door.

Couldn't wait to get home and polish it out.

FYI this may be a crazy thing to say in this community, but I took care of that high spot with a MF towel with a spritz of Hyper Polish on it.

Either of those polishes will work just fine. So you did 2 layers of UK and 1 of SiC?

Yes, I did 2 coats of UK and one of SiC. It definitely was a learning experience with the time window. The combo does look really good!

I think my plan should be to wait a week, catalog all the spots I want to correct and then knock them out at one time. I don't think I will find every imperfection trying to rush through today and will just waste another applicator in the process.

Yes, I remember your reply from the other thread. I figured the 2nd coat would help even it out if I missed any spots going fast.

Frankly, I could probably have justed used SiC or a sealant\carnuba since the car doesn't see the elements. But l like having a coating on it.
