    303 Graphene @ 3 months (abused) + Griots PFM 25 x 35 towel

I finally washed the Camaro tonight, it's been a solid 2 months since its last bath - life gets in the way sometimes

I do have to say that even with 2 months worth of driving in the rain, LOTS of miles put on, BUGS and being fully exposed to Mother Nature's wrath, the car wasn't as dirty as you'd expect. The wash was uneventful and upon rinsing the car, I noticed the top surfaces fared worse than the sides. The roof was pretty flat and sheeting slowly, the hood and trunk had large beads and sheeted a bit faster, but still not great. The sides were sheeting pretty quickly still though and shed almost all the water by the time I got to drying them.

Even though the hydrophobics seemed to have taken a major hit, bug guts and a bird bomb that I hadn't noticed on the roof (It was hidden by the antenna) washed off effortlessly and without leaving marks on the paint, so apparently there is something from the 303 left protecting the paint.

If some of you want to think the 303 failed, I have to take some of the blame for not applying it correctly. After reading more from the 303 site, I didn't wait the full 5-ish minutes before buffing it off on ANY of the coats I put on AND I didn't wait 24 hours between coats, I out two coats on one right after the other. I go back to work tomorrow, so recoating the car PROPERLY will have to wait for another day. APPEARANCE wise though the car still looks immaculate.

I finally ordered a Griots PFM drying towel from AG and received it last week. I got the 25" x 35" one and used it tonight on the Camaro after the wash. I'm sure no one will be surprised to find out that it worked GREAT! I dried the car in less that 1/4 of the time it used to take and *I* didn't get wet from leaning over the car to dry the roof and hood. Just flip the towel over the panel and draw it back towards you and you're done. Even with all the water remaining on the hood and roof, it absorbed it all and I was able to dry the entire car with the one towel and never needed to wring it out. I admit I used a smaller mf to dry the grill and door jambs, but because I wanted to, not because the PFM was too wet to continue using. I should have gotten one a long time ago.

    Good, honest review/update Don.

Yeah, the PFM has that effect............ You kick yourself in the a$$ for not buying one sooner.

*PFM* is credited quite a lot in the world of aviation.... just not within earshot pf anyone from the FAA though

You can get the PFM's in 16x16 as well. They just call them PFM Terry Weave Towels. It's a little more convenient for drying lower areas on the car, etc.

    Yes sir.

I have 4 of them for wheel/door jamb duty. Before I used the PFM Terry Weaves, drying my chrome wheels with other "drying towels" was a huge PITA. Streaking was awful because the towels could never absorb water worth a crap.

    Not so with the PFM's.

I didn't find the size of the 25x35 PFM to be an issue when drying the sides of the Camaro, I just folded it twice so it was more manageable. Besides, even with the increased speed of drying the tops of the car with the PFM, the sides were mostly dry.

    Welcome to the PFM club.

Next you need to add the 16 x 16 PFMs to your arsenal for the little touchups and tight spots when drying .... like the grille, etc., as you noted above (but not for the door jambs). At 2 for $20, probably the best deal on PFMs too.
