Trying to remove a stain on the paint
Hi, havent been on the forum in awhile, usually i use ONR to wash the car, ran out and wanted to do a quick job before a car show, so i used the Rain X car wash with rain repellant...........looked ok in the garage, got to the show, oh boy, what a mess, streaks all over...........So i get home and figure i might as well wash the car since i had it all messed up already, so i sprayed the entire bottle all over it just to get rid of the stuff..............now i used regular car wash soap, while rinsing it off i noticed some kind of film on the paint, so i washed again, still the film on it...........then clay bar it, that only took some of it off.........then used some 91% ach, that took most of it off..............finally gave up and said i"ll get the rest tomorrow............any suggestions on why this would happen, i did have some fast finish on it last time doing it.
Took a few pics but it didnt show up in the pics................i also tried regular dish soap, didnt do much..........any suggestions on what to throw on the car now, i still have to get the sides cleaned off. lol
I wonder if this ever happened to Paul Mys. lol............whats up paul

Re: Trying to remove a stain on the paint
I would try a paint cleaner or light cutting polish to clean the paint. That should get rid of any film or contamination. If you don’t have a polisher, using by hand should give you the results you’re looking for. I have used Wolfgang paintwork polish enhancer( paint cleaner) and finishing glaze( light polish) with excellent results. Hope this helps, good luck.

Clay bar only removes contamination embedded in the paint. It won’t remove the film you spoke of. Let me know how you make out.

LOL! Only that one time I spilled beer into the wash bucket........
But yeah, if the crappy Rain-X film won't come off, I'd try polishing like R/TED suggested.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
