    Headlight Restoration Help/Advice

    Hi all,

My 2017 Subaru Legacy's headlamps UV coat is starting to peel on the top of them. What is the best way to tackle this? I really don't want to have to spend a fortune replacing the headlamps, so if there is an easy way to remedy this that would be great!

I guess my question is, will the Meguiar's kit do the trick? I am nervous about sanding the headlight. Has anyone else done this with success?

    Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I used the meg headlight kit in a blue box. Was very easy to follow and use. That was almost 2 years ago and the headlights still look great.

Perfect, I'll give it a whirl! That is the same exact kit I just ordered.

Chances are that will simply polish off. Meg's has a great headlight kit with a 3" Drill attachment, etc included. If you simply polish you may not require a spray on 2k clear or coating be applied. Just seal them up. Sanding overall isn't difficult. Just wet sand that with some 2000-3000 grit and polish back. Higher grits like that may take a bit longer but it's light damage and super easy to finish out. If you do sand, make sure you use Meg's spray on Headlight Coating after.
