Re: I hate black
I'm now on my second black car and it doesn't bother me a bit. I now longer fear or dread a black vehicle.
I've learned how to care for it to keep swirls at a minimum and have also learned to live with it when it isn't perfect. I polish my car out about once every 18 months or so and use multi-year coatings to protect the paint. Even when covered with dust and pollen it still looks glossy and better than any other car in the parking lot at work. If I don't have the time to give it a proper bucket wash I just wait until I can and know the dirty car will look spectacular soon.
Will I get another black car? Nope. Not because I don't like maintaining a black car, but because the automotive world has become shockingly boring in it's color pallet. Every car on the road is black, white or gray, so I'll do my best to find something in a color and not gray-scale.

Re: I hate black
I've never owned black. But the only color they had for my silverado with the features I wanted was black. I love it and hate it. Last year bought the wife an expedition in black because I love the look. Also love and hate it.

So true. I just noticed this today in a lineup of heavy oncoming traffic. The only car with color was a red Miata. Or I remember having my orange Judge parked in the evening - it looked like a colorized photo because all the other cars were in black-white continuum.
But those new iridescent reds are really coming on lately ...

Re: I hate black
I love black cars. As long as they're not mine. I'm too old to have another part-time job.

Re: I hate black
There nothing like a well-polished and waxed black car….the liquidity and depth of a well maintained and waxed black car simply cannot be beat. Only other colors that come close are reds and blues. But it IS almost a daily job keeping my black car clean, but I’m one of those anal weekend detailers who love to mess around with my car.

Re: I hate black
The only thing worse than black is dark blue metallc or black metallic. They show every minute micro-scratch.
