Very cool idea, Ric.
Nice write-up too.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

And my wife hates it because she says “you never want to spend a penny.” I want to tell her “yeah for every dollar I spend on my stuff you want to spend three. So, for the record she doesn’t see half of what I spend due to my creative finances. Four years of accounting will either get you in trouble (got a friend in trouble now and I believe will end up being “away” trouble) or help you manage your finances so your wife believes you are a cheapo…I’m the latter. But I do like this sock.
So I would extend that one to Fleet Admiral cheapo. LOL

Another great tip, and your writeup was very well done.
Funny thing. I have an old Genie-brand "shop vac" that I use for my cars because it is small/convenient but powerful for its size. It's factory filtration system consists of something quite similar to your pool sock.

Re: Quick tip regarding wet/dry vacuum filters
Great tip Eldo !!! I have some skimmer socks sitting out in my pool bin that I am not using so I am excited to try this. I actually stopped using the skimmer socks on my pool because they restricted the water flow a bit based on their density when they got dirty. Someone on one of the pool forums suggested using simple hair nets used by food prep workers. Voila...they are perfect and I use them all the time in my pool skimmers.
Now I can find a use for my skimmer socks I am not using

Re: Quick tip regarding wet/dry vacuum filters
Love it!
Almost have to wonder why someone at Rigid or Shop-Vac, etc. didn't think about this and offer it as an option.
Thank you for sharing!
