Re: Suggestions for Cleaning and Maintaining New 17'' Voxx Wheels

@vobro this issue right now it that these Nitto 215/50/17 load index 95 tires are crap so I need something better with a load index at or above 98. then having to compromise the size with the load index just so the tire would fit up under the van without any other adjustments, I have found several 225's with a load index of 99. I'm not looking to go any higher than that based on what you said about the ride quality. I mean sure, is you search hard enough you can see plenty of TC's with 18's and lower load index tires of 94 even 92.. this ride has to be really spongy. Not to my liking for sure.

    LostInTransit,
Have you tried upping the pressures in the tires? Adding a few PSI (try 2psi at a time)will reduce sidewall flex without any dramatic impact on tread life.

Re: Suggestions for Cleaning and Maintaining New 17'' Voxx Wheels

@Epilogts these Nitto 215/50/17 tires have a max inflate of 50 psi. It's a struggle to keep them at 48 psi.. so yes I've tried to keep and maintain these tires and it's not working. Even Nitto informed me NOT to mount these tires on the van, but I trusted the word of the CariD salesman. What I should have done was mount a set of the 215/55/17 on the Voxx wheels as this would have been the proper load index. We've been having to deal with the crappy tires for at least year and that will finally come to an end once we get a few other things lined up.

Re: Suggestions for Cleaning and Maintaining New 17'' Voxx Wheels

its been 1 year since getting rid of the Voxx wheels and poor Nitto tires.. the issue with the entire set up was that it was wrong from the beginning. We just couldn't wait any longer and had to get rid of these wheels/tires. 6 months ago, we located a set of wheels online (in England) and I suspect that I should create a new thread to go into more detail about the new wheels and how difficult it's been locating tires to fit on these new wheels..
