Anyone else coating tires?
Anyone else coating customer's tires? I've been using OPT Tire Coating on every customer going on about 8 months now. It saves time after the maint wash not having to reapply dressing. Not that it saves a ton of time but it helps.
Yup, there's an upcharge but it's made it easier for me. Sure, cleaning the tires takes some time initially but once done they're coated and simply washed when they return.
It's lasting, on average, about 6-8 washes. For some customers that 6 months!
For those customer's who are 100% coated (paint, trim, tires) i'm washing, rinsing, drip method, drying and blowing in 30 mins.

What is your prep process?
Do you have any prerequisites? - Like tires cannot currently have a dressing. (that's mine)

Re: Anyone else coating tires?
I simply machine brush scrub repeatedly with strong APC until it foams white. On some tires that might be anywhere from 4-8 times.
I have had some sidewalls previously dressed (by me) and haven't had any real issues to note.
Insuring the rubber is clean is key for me. And your demo of machine scrubbing with a good brush attachment helped immensely.

Tires are also the first thing I dry after the wash too.

I use Chemical Guys VRP Dressing on my tires.

I'd rather use the Blackfire Multi-Surface Dressing Concentrate. It may not last as long, but it's super easier to work with. I can control the level of gloss and it gives me the look I want on tires. I also use it on my tonneau cover. It's a great product!
