I'm not totally sure, but I think there is a clearcoat on the trim, you may have burned it off using the Uro pad with the compound. You could try a good trim coating, but I definitely wouldn't hit it with anything else abrasive again.

Re: Anyone know how to fix this?
Those trim bits are always questionable as to whether they are metal, plastic, painted, clear coated etc... They could simply be painted plastic and you went through the paint and you're seeing base layer now.
I don't know of any fix actions, but in the future I don't hit any trim, or the painted areas on the B/C pillars with anything more than a polishing pad and a fine polish. Even then I only make a couple passes because the paint or the plastic itself is usually really soft and takes very little to correct.

Re: Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for the input. I’m finding all kinds of differences between the new suburban and the 2016 she just sold that I’m surprised about. The strength of metal used has changes significantly and the use of plastic trim on the front is crazy, can’t wait to clean bugs off of that beast. I’m coating it all with CQuartz 3.0 so hopefully that’ll help. There are so many nooks and crannies all over the unit that it’ll take a long time to coat it.
