    Faded single stage paint

My 05 Toyota Tacoma was repainted 5 years ago.single stage paint. I’ve been keeping up with cleaning and Meg’s Ultimate Liquid wax. Then I started using Wolfgang’s Waterless Wash SIO2 and now Wolfgang’s Rinseless Wash SIO2 after each wash and for occasional clean ups. Its surface is smooth, near glassy and shiny, the problem is under this glassy shiny surface the red metal flake paint is fading. It’s just getting dull.

How do I get down to the paint surface, clean and polish it up so it looks good again?

Do you own any type of polisher?

    Like a Porter Cable?

It's an easy fix but it will be a LOT easier if you have a random orbital polisher versus working by hand.

First, thank you for the prompt reply.

Yes I have a DA, I also have Meguiar's Cleaner Wax and Flagship Cleaner Wax but nothing stronger.

    I'd use the Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax.

    1. Wash and dry
    2. Clay
    3. Megs Cleaner/Wax with a foam polishing or foam cutting pad

Stick a fork in it, call it done.

Thanx! I thought that getting through that glassy surface was really going to be a pain.

    Have a great week.

Thank you thank you thank you, took me about an hour going over the hood 5 times and it looks real good.

I had visions of me out there for hours with a little chisel and dinky hammer chipping off the ceramic coating to get to the paint, this was much easier than I'd even hoped for.

    Thanx again for the guidance.
